East Stroudsburg edge Millersville to hand Coach Jamison Debut Win
Sunday, September 06, 2026

East Stroudsburg University opened their 2026 campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Millersville Marauders at Eiler-Martin Stadium, securing a first career win for new head coach Tayler Jamison. Bermudian goalkeeper Taya Rodrigues watched on as an unused substitute while the Warriors weathered substantial pressure to claim all three points. Millersville dominated the territory and shot counts, registering 22 attempts to East Stroudsburg's eight, but found Warriors goalkeeper Ava Perrone in inspired form. Perrone produced 10 saves over the 90 minutes, including seven first-half stops, to keep the Marauders at bay. The Warriors proved far more clinical in front of goal and struck early: 13th minute: Jade Wiley opened the scoring with the seventh goal of her collegiate career, handing ESU a 1-0 lead. 56th minute: Alexis McRoberts doubled the advantage, netting her first collegiate goal after the break. 90th minute: Millersville pulled a goal back with just 24 seconds remaining, but the hosts held firm through stoppage time to close out the victory. Sophia Lowery and McRoberts led the ESU attack with two shots on target apiece, while Kali O'Connell and Wiley also tested the visiting keeper to cap an efficient opening-day display.
