Friday, July 03, 2026

Bermudian Olympian Emma Harvey continued her strong run of form on the international stage with a series of commanding performances at the 2026 Fran Crippen Memorial Swim Meet of Champions. Competing at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex in Mission Viejo, Southern California, the 24-year-old advanced to multiple finals against a competitive field, coming away with a hard-earned podium finish in the Butterfly. Harvey laid down an early marker in the 100m long course Backstroke. After qualifying third fastest in the morning preliminaries with a sharp time of 1 minute 02.48 seconds, she found extra pace in the elite final. Shaving nearly half a second off her morning mark, Harvey touched the wall in 1:01.99 to secure a highly commendable fourth-place finish overall. However, it was the 100m Butterfly where the versatile sprinter made her podium breakthrough. Having advanced from the morning heats as the fourth-fastest qualifier in 1:01.45, Harvey delivered a clinical tactical display in the grand final. Powering through the field on the return leg, she lowered her time to a blistering 1:00.93 to claim a superb third place and a well-deserved bronze medal. The successful double-final outing underscores Harvey’s strong tactical range and consistency as she continues to test her engines against top-tier international opposition on the long-course circuit.
