Dominic Wright made his World Aquatics Junior Open Water Swimming Championships debut in testing conditions in Santa Fe, Argentina. Competing in the Boys' 14–15 age category over 5km, the 15-year-old was one of five swimmers caught outside the official time limit in a fiercely contested, fast-paced pack. Victory went to Russia's Alan Nosov, who delivered a commanding swim to take the world junior title in a brisk 55:59.
